August 18, 2021

Hi to all of our supporters. It has been a hot minute since we posted on our blog. We have been in the shop working on new bracelets for the website. These bracelets are exclusives for the website and won’t be sold at shows. We have been posting some of the pictures on Instagram and Facebook. We should have them up sometime this week. We are working on a lot of new and exciting products that will be revealed over the coming weeks.

Also, we have been taking videos with an ApeMan A66 action camera for our YouTube Channel. So, we are making instructional videos , tips and tricks videos, and “highlight reels” from our event. We are learning how to edit with our new software from DaVinci Resolve. We will be putting more videos on our YouTube Channel every Friday. If you don’t already “Like”, “Subscribe”, or “Follow” us… you should! It’s a great way to stay up-to-date with new merchandise, about upcoming events, tips and tricks on leather work.

We’re still searching for a 15 passenger van to put everything in it.  We started a Ko-fi Page! Ko-fi helps creators get support from fans of our work. Please support or follow our page! https://ko-fi.com/dragoncatleather . We set up a goal of $5000 to buy a van.

We will be back at it again at Tsubasacon in October from 1pm to 11pm on Friday, 9am to 7pm (saturday), and 9am to 4pm(sunday).

If you are one of the many folks that asked about custom orders, please fill out the form on the contact us page. Also, if you saw something in our booth not listed on the website, please fill out the form on the contact page. Thanks again for coming out and seeing us. Keep up to date on shows and festivals by visiting the events page. Also, follow  us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Tik Tok, and Youtube. Cincinnati Celtic Festival July 23, 2021

Hi to all of our supporters. It was an adventurous and hot weekend at the Guinness Cincinnati Celtic Fest presented by FedEx Ground.  If you haven’t already read any of our blogs, here is a little background history about the street faire.

Guinness Cincinnati Celtic Fest presented by FedEx Ground is a yearly free Celtic Festival. The Guinness Cincinnati Celtic Festival, presented by The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Foundation is one of our largest fundraising events. It takes place in July this year  directly in front of the Great American Ballpark on Freedom Way. Join us to celebrate Celtic Heritage with family fun, great food, Celtic music and more.

We expanded on the farmers market layout. We are bringing belts, purses, wallets, cord keepers, growler carriers, wine bottle carriers, bracelets and a few journals. We got all our products into one large bin but still needed two vehicles for the setup. We’re still searching for a 15 passenger van to put everything in it.  We started a Ko-fi Page! Ko-fi helps creators get support from fans of our work. Please support or follow our page! https://ko-fi.com/dragoncatleather . We set up a goal of $5000 to buy a van.

Setup for the festival began at 9:00 am. The setup was an adventure because of the heat, unrelenting sun, and arriving at setup at 2:30 pm . It ended up being a beautiful night for the festival on Friday. Saturday and Sunday, the temperature soared to the high Nineties.  Everyone was excited to be out and enjoying the festival. There were about 30 vendors at the festival. It was a good mix of vendors featuring Dublin Pub from Dayton. There was a Scotch and Irish testing tent.  Also, we had live music by some wonderful bands (Lost Celts, Mad Maudlin, Easter Rising)  led by the headliner Seven Nations.

We will be back at it again at Tsubasacon in October from 1pm to 11pm on Friday, 9am to 7pm (saturday), and 9am to 4pm(sunday).

DogTap Exchange February 10, 2019

Founded in 2007, BrewDog started in Scotland with a mission to revolutionize beer drinking. In 2015, BrewDog brought their revolution to the United States and landed in Columbus, Ohio. Since 2015, it has expanded to a bar in the Short North and Franklinton. Dog Tap just opened a hotel at the brewery and dogs are allowed to stay here. The Dog Tap Exchange started about a year ago. The Exchange features local made products and artists.

We have done all but 1 of the Exchanges. This is my favorite place. One main reason is puppies are allowed in the building and patio. The Exchange was held in the lobby of Dog Tap but moved to the museum part of the building. This gave the people more time to look at the artists and vendors. This was first show with a condensed version of our 10 x 10 spot.  The crowds were steady all day even with the snow. We are looking forward to the next Exchange.

Weekly Update February 18, 2019

We have confirmation for two upcoming events, The Magical Market and The Viking Fest. The Magical Market is a first year event that will feature fantastical items from magical and intergalactic realms, superheroes and villains, or otherworldly creatures such as elves, fairies, wizards, gnomes, etc. The Magical Market is being held at Goshen High School in Goshen, Ohio. The Viking Fest is an annual festival in Whitestown, Indiana. The second year event will have the Vikings invading Whitestown once again for a fun and educational festival including a Viking Village, fight reenactments, live music, and more. The Viking Fest is being held at Anson Acres in Whitestown, Indiana.

Our schedule of events will be slowly filling up the calendar, once we get more acceptance letters. This week, we took time to increase stock levels on bracelets, journals and low on hand products. Azure made embossed bracelets with a new color scheme. She is also tooling more journals for the upcoming year. She put some final touches on a custom coin purse that will be sent out this week. Captain did a bunch of dragon scale bracelets. The dye job on the bracelets is one of a kind. He mixed dyes to achieve the unique custom color for this project.

Kings Islands WinterFest 2018

Following a twelve year absence, Winterfest returned in 2017. The annual Christmas themed event starts on the fourth Friday (Black Friday) in November for selected dates until the New Year. The first year the Artisan Village was located underneath the Eiffel Tower. This year, the village was move to accommodate the igloo rentals underneath the Eiffel Tower. There are many things to do at Winterfest including ice skating, watching shows, riding select roller coasters, decorating cookies with Mrs. Claus, riding in horse driven carriages and shopping at Artisan Village. The most important things to do other than shop at Artisan Village, is buying a $10 hot cocoa mug, the first night are free refills. On return visits, refills are discounted with returned hot cocoa mugs. We have done both years of Winterfest. The booths at Artisan Village are a 7 by 9 shed with a heater. This year, we had some items to bring including sleigh bells, Ohio state bells, bracers, growler/howler carriers, and cup sleeves. We had the Holly Jolly Trolley perform twice a night in front of our shed. And you can’t forget the Christmas Techno House. It was an enjoyable festival since its Ohio; expect the weather to be crazy.  If you are one of the many folks that asked about custom orders, please fill out the form on the contact us page. Also, if you saw something in our booth not listed on the website, please fill out the form on the contact page.  Thanks again for coming out and seeing us.
